I started this blog because of one bad afternoon at a makeup counter.
How it started
My younger cousin had a school formal coming up and asked me to help her find a foundation. We tried three stores. In every single one, the shade range stopped about two shades before her skin began.
She was sixteen. She stood there holding a bottle that was never going to match her and said, quietly, that she’d just skip foundation.
I went home angry and stayed angry for about a week. Then I started writing things down instead.
That’s what Glam So Real is. The advice I wish someone had handed her that afternoon, written out properly, for whoever needs it.
Who I write for

Older posts are revisited and updated on a schedule, with the date changed and a note at the top saying what moved.
